A word-for-word translation

B:夕食ゆうしょくまでよこになります。

It’s natural.

よこになる means a situation where you lie down but don’t fall asleep completely, or at least you don’t intend to sleep, but just rest your body for a short time.

You can use this expression when you’re ill or tired and also when others are.
The latter example is よこになったら? which means that why don’t you lie down?

The Japanese よこ has several meanings.
This よこ means level, almost parallel to the ground, so you can use よこ in this context.

But be careful because ‘horizontal’ in Japanese is basically translated as 水平すいへい instead of よこ.
