Advanced Tips

1. ‘Leading brand’ can be translated as トップブランド、一流いちりゅうブランド.

2. The second meaning ‘brand’ can be translated as 独自どくじ, 独特どくとく in most cases, but sometimes, these words don’t quite fit.
In this case, there are two options.

One is not to translate. For example,

I don’t think Bertha would appreciate your particular brand of sympathy.

バーサはあなたの同情心どうじょうしん感謝かんしゃはしないとおもいます。

English sentence: the Oxford Learner’s Dictionaries

The other is to translate as そのしゅ. For example,

I don’t think Bertha would appreciate your particular brand of sympathy.

バーサはあなたのそのしゅ同情心どうじょうしん感謝かんしゃはしないとおもいます。

English sentence: the Oxford Learner’s Dictionaries

Both are fine. If I had to say, the latter expresses the nuance of ‘specific’. You should be careful , though, because in some cases it may sound critical of Bartha.
